Total hip replacement
Hip osteoarthritis, intra-articular pathologies, prosthesis loosening… Hip surgery, of which the aim is to optimise articular mobility and comfort, is specific to each case.
Total hip replacement
Hip osteoarthritis is the wear of the cartilage resulting in a loss in mobility and pain. To resolve this, orthopaedic surgery proposes hip replacement: the implant replaces the joint to restore mobility without pain. You will forget that you have had a hip replacement.
Hip arthrolysis
The hip joint can lose mobility due to extreme movements or certain sports activites; this is exactly the case with anterior hip impingement. The pelvis and the femur articulate with difficulty due to rubbing between the different parts of the joint. Arthrolysis can solve the problem.
Hip arthroscopy
A hip arthroscopy is indicated in the case of a damaged socket or a foreign body in the joint. This operation gets to the root of the problem using a long instrument, thus avoiding opening the hip; the scar is very small.
Revision hip replacement
Hip replacement solves the problem of hip osteoarthritis. However, with time the implant can wear and loosen or cause inflammation around the joint: to avoid any possible complications and deal with the discomfort, revision hip replacement is necessary.
Conservative hip surgery
When hip dysplasia is diagnosed, the therapeutic objective consists in preventing the premature wear of the cartilage and the entire joint. By operating directly on hip disorders, the surgeon can restore the balance of the joint: thus the mechanical functions of the hip are retained, preventing the premature wear of the cartilage.
